Johnston

John Savitsky Jr., of Johnston, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully at his home on April 15th at the age of 52. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength that touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Barbara Savitsky who brought joy and true campionship to his life. He is also survived by his beloved daughter, Gianna Savitsky, and his son, Michael Savitsky, as well as his two stepsons, Tom Lincourt and Christopher Vieira. John was a cherished son to his mother Barbra Parrillo and her husband Albert Pepe and his father John Savitsky Sr., and a beloved brother to his sister, Sunshine Edwards and her husband John. He was also a loving uncle to his nieces Shianne and Summer Edwards, and his nephew Austin Edwards.

John was a proud and hardworking parts assistant manager at Toyota of Smithfield, where he dedicated himself wholeheartedly to his craft. His passion for his work—especially anything involving cars—was unmatched. Whether he was managing parts, helping a customer, or talking about one his favorite passions racing, his enthusiasm was contagious. We find peace in imagining him now doing what he loved most—working on cars and racing in heaven.

He especially loved spending time with his wife, Barbra, and together they cherished their visits to New Hampshire. The peace of the mountain views and the beauty of nature brought him so much happiness. John also had a deep love for fishing—it was one of his favorite ways to unwind and connect with the outdoors. We hope he’s casting a line and reeling in the biggest catch in heaven.

He was a wonderful father, uncle, son, and brother—a truly good man who always showed up for others with a kind heart and helping hands. His warmth, humor, and gentle spirit made him one of the nicest men to walk this earth, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday April 19th 4pm - 7pm at Robbins Funeral Home 2251 Mineral Spring Ave North Providence where family and friends are invited to come together to remember and honor the beautiful life he lived.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Burial and flowers will be omitted.

Rest easy, John. We’ll hold you in our hearts forever.
