John Ricci

Ricci, John C., 86, of North Providence, died November 1, 2014 at his home. He was the son of the late John and Domenica (Ottaviano) Ricci and husband of the late Marion (Minard) Ricci.

John spent most of his life running the family business, Ricci's Supermarket and later was employed by the State of Rhode Island as a hearing officer in the Department of Labor Relations. A Korean War veteran, he retired from the Army Reserves as a Chief Warrant Officer. He served on the North Providence Town Council and was president from 1969 to 1975.

John was the father of Maureen Pogorilich, Marion Pogorilich, Lisa Henry, Kristine Ricci, and the late Nancy Ricci-Barlow. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was the brother of Hilda Ricci and the late Basil Ricci.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 AM in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave, Providence. Burial in St. Ann Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Home and Hospice Care RI, 1085 North Main St, Providence, RI 02904.
