John Potenza

Potenza, John H., 92, died Sunday June 23, 2013. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Ventura) Potenza. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Thomas and Leonora (Matera) Potenza.

Mr. Potenza was a resident of North Providence since 1983. He was a machine operator for Texas Instruments for fifteen years before retiring in 1983. He was a member of the American Legion Post #56, Providence, DAV #21 Providence, and a was Navy veteran of WWII.

He is survived by his daughter, Marie Lindstrom of West Warwick, a step-son, Norman Briggs of Wickford, two grandchildren, two brothers, Rocco, and Albert Potenza and a sister Mary O'Donnell. He was the brother of the late Benny, Domenic, Anthony, Frank, Thomas, Isabelle, and Anna Potenza.

His funeral service and burial with military honors will be held Saturday at 11 AM in the chapel of Highland Memorial Park, 1 Rhode Island Ave. Johnston. Calling hours Friday 6-8 PM in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion National Headquarters, PO Box 1055, Indianapolis, IN 46209.
