John Michael Fahey, 78, formerly of Foster RI passed away suddenly on April 28th, 2021 at the age of 78. He was born in Providence, RI on September 10, 1942 to the late John and Jeanne (Dubuc) Fahey.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Carolyn, son Michael and wife Zuzana Fahey of Union, CT, son Kevin and wife Maureen Fahey of Topsham, VT and son Jonathan and wife Roberta Fahey of Pomfret, CT, eight grandchildren, John, Robert, Mark, Michael, Christopher, Cristian, Siera and Ashley Fahey, and one great-grandchild, Oliver. He is also survived by his sisters, Claire Mahoney, Eileen Anderson, and Jeanne Fargnoli, and was brother to the late Robert Fahey. He will also be missed by extended family and friends.
John served in the US Air Force early in his life before starting his career as an electrical sales engineer. In his spare time, he enjoyed golf, photography, world history, and sports, particularly cheering on his Boston teams. His favorite dessert was chocolate chip cookies that he loved to share with his granddaughter, Ashley. He also loved sharing knowledge, love, and stories with his sons and grandchildren. John made everyone laugh with his quick humor.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 8:45 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston. Burial with military honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Social distancing and capacity limits will be observed and masks will be required. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Food Shelf or Wounded Warriors.
