Jane Brown

Jane Ann Brown, 90, of Johnston, RI passed away Monday, July 31, 2023 at home.

Born October 12,1932 in Providence, RI she was the daughter of the late Walter and Lillian (Chippendale) Brown. She was the sister of the late Walter Brown.

Miss Brown was a graduate of Classical High School. She received her Bachelors Degree from RI College and Masters Degree from Boston University.  She was a teacher for the Providence School Department until her retirement.

Miss Brown leaves behind many loving friends, especially Karen McKenna of Seekonk, MA , Martha Callan of Warwick, RI and Pauline Fontaine of Bradenton, FL.  She is also survived by her cousin, William Martin Brown of Portsmouth, RI along with other extended family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 10:00 am at Saint Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial will follow at Saint Francis Cemetery, 202 Smithfield Avenue, Pawtucket.

Miss Brown was an advocate for animals of all kinds.  She leaves behind her faithful companion, Splash. Donations in her memory should be made to: RISPCA 186 Amaral Street, Riverside, RI  02915.
