Scott, James L., 90, a retired manufacturing supervisor, died April 19, 2012 at the RI Veterans Home in Bristol. He was the husband of the late Elsie (DiSandro) Scott. Born in St. Louis, MO, he was a son of the late W. J. and Nellie D. (Jones) Scott.

Jim was a member of both the North Providence and Smithfield Lions Clubs. He was president of the RI Lions Sight Foundation from 1988 to 1991. He was instrumental in organizing air flights and outings for visually impaired adults, and was instrumental in founding Camp Mauchatea, for visually impaired youngsters. Jim was a Navy Seabee veteran of WWII.

He leaves three nieces, Paula Domenico, Lois Goff, and Elsie Sammartino. He was brother of the late William and Virginia Scott.

Visitation will be held Monday from 10 to 11 AM, with a service at 11AM in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
