James Rostron

Rostron, James T., 85, of Smithfield RI, died on Wednesday December 29, 2010. He was the husband of the late Florence (Caldwell) Rostron. A retired fire protection engineer with Grinnell Corp and a decorated veteran of WWII, he is survived by his daughters Judith Bullock of Kapolei, HI, Janet Gasparri of Smithfield, his son James Rostron of Coventry, their spouses and his three grandchildren. He also leaves his brother in law, Robert Caldwell, his niece, Karen Poe, nieces, nephews and many good friends. An avid fan of all sports from New England, he also enjoyed golfing, bowling and a good game of poker with the guys. He was a 64 year summer resident of Roy Carpenter's Beach, Matunuck.

His funeral service will be held Monday at 10 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial with military honors will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Calling hours Sunday 4-7 pm.
