Bilodeau, James E., 74, of Smithfield, died December 18, 2012 in Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the husband of Gail L. (Robbins) Bilodeau. Born in Providence, he was the son of Edward and Agnes (Tobin) Bilodeau.

Jim was a driver for RIPTA for 15 years, retiring in 2005. Prior to that he was a master auto body painter, winning numerous best in show awards for the cars he built. An avid motorcyclist, he was a member of Gold Wing Road Rider's Association, RIMA, The Retreads, and Rhode Rats. He was a 1956 graduate of LaSalle Academy, and a volunteer with the Georgiaville Fire Co. in his youth. He also served in the US Air Force.

Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Dawn C. Bilodeau of North Providence, a son James E. Bilodeau, Jr. and his wife Alina of Mansfield, MA, a sister Mary Lee Bigelow of West Palm Beach, FL, six grandchildren, Zachary, Jason, Nicholas, Daniel, Katherine, and Matthew, and 2 great grandchildren.

His funeral, with military honors, will be held Saturday at 11 AM from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon in St. Michael Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Calling hours are Friday 5-8 PM. Burial will be private. www.robbinsfuneralhome.com.
