Herbert F. Shurtleff, Jr., 92, formerly of North Providence, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025 at Greenville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.  He was the beloved husband of the late Alberta C. (Rocchio) Shurtleff.  Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Herbert F. and Aline (Couturier) Shurtleff.

After graduating from LaSalle Academy, Bert enlisted in the United States Navy, serving his country during the Korean Conflict.  He then began his career as an oil burner service technician.  He spent most of his working career in mechanical maintenance, working at Park Lane Associates for 20 years, then for various housing associations.  Bert enjoyed camping with his late wife seasonally at Holiday Acres.  He also was a longtime member of Trinity Episcopal Church and the former St. Alban's Church.

Bert is survived by his two sons, Richard Shurtleff and his wife, Jill, and Michael Shurtleff and his wife, Anne, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and his sister, Jeanne Gill.  He was the brother of the late Leo and Clinton Shurtleff and Aline Brouillard.

His celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 10 am in Trinity Episcopal Church, 249 Danielson Pike, Scituate.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church.
