Harold Smith

Smith, Harold, R., 87, formerly of Johnston, died October 12, 2010 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center. He was the husband of the late Charlotte E. (Walker) Smith. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Albert and Ellen (Sarty) Smith. He was a licensed real estate agent and owner of Smith Realty in Providence for 40 years. He was a Cranston City Councilman and was captain of the legendary Cranston High Football Team that was undefeated and unscored upon in the 1930's. An Army Air Force veteran of WWII, Harold served in the Pacific Theater.

He leaves two sons, Douglas H. Smith of East Greenwich, and Donald S. Smith and his wife Paula of Cranston, two step-sons, Peter L. Johnson of Coventry, and John W. Johnson of Johnston, six grandchildren, Ashley Moore, Stephen, Brian, Adam, Ethan, and Zachary Smith, and a brother, Edward Smith of Florida. He was the father of the late Deborah A. Smith and brother of the late Raymond Smith.
