Pincins, Gerard J., 83, passed away on Friday December 31, 2010 surrounded by his loving family in the home of his son. He was the husband of the late Helen E. Pincins (Feeley); they were married for 50 years. Gerard leaves his two children Catherine L. Iacone and husband Domenic of Smithfield, RI and his son Kevin G. Pincins and his wife Audrey of Wakefield, RI. Gerard was one of 9 children of Joseph and Marie Pincins he was the brother of the late Blanche Anisewski, Tony, Rene, Armand, Leo and Ernest Pincins. He also leaves his two surviving siblings Irene Desourdy of Smithfield and Richard Pincince of Johnston, RI. Gerard also leaves behind four grandchildren, Michael D. Iacone and Courtney L. Iacone of Smithfield and Ashley E. Pincins and Samantha M Pincins of Wakefield and one great-granddaughter Payton L. Iacone of Smithfield, RI. Gerard also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends.
Gerard was a carpenter and member of Local 94 Carpenter's Union for over 50 years. He worked on many notable landmarks in RI. including the Providence Civic Center, Providence College Library, Prout High School, Brown University Science Building, RI Mall and all of the bridges on Route 295 to name just a few. Gerard also worked on many local homes with his close friend Edward Lacroix of Smithfield. Gerard was a US Navy Veteran serving his Country from 1945 to 1947 and a supporter of local Veterans groups.
His funeral will be held Monday at 8:30 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Philip Church, Greenville. Burial with military honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Calling hours Sunday 4-7 pm.
