Gerald Silvia

Gerald Silvia, 80, of North Providence, passed away on June 13, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Pauline L. (Rocco) Silvia. They were married for 38 years.

Born in Fall River, Ma. he was the son of the late Mariano and Alice (Rodriques) Silvia, the father of Craig Silvia of Taunton, MA and Jason Silvia of Pawtucket, RI.   He is also survived by his brother, Mario and his wife Cheryl of Swansea, MA., and the late Ronald Silvia.

He is also survived by his adopted family, the Longos, Anthony, Beverly, Steve, Donna, Roxy and her late husband Larry, Joe and Nicole.

Gerald's professional life began in the sixties which saw him open his first barbershop in Somerset Massachusetts. Gerald"s shop along with his attention to detail and energetic positive personality, launched a career that spanned over five decades, with a client list including those in government and celebrities like Hulk Hogan. All of this, along with the many friendships he made along the way, earned him the nickname "Gerry The Barber".

Gerry also was fortunate to have his dear friends Deb, Linda, Joanne and Matt.  He enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and going to his favorite spot, the beach.

He loved visiting upstate New York to go to concerts in Bethel Woods with Joe and Paul.  Gerry enjoyed having dinners with his friends Tom and Cathy, as well as going to Roxy's house to watch baseball and the Patriots games with his friend Mike.

Gerald looked forward to family functions, especially when they involved his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He especially loved playing pool with all of them.

We would like to thank all the staff at the Hope Alzheimer's Center for the extraordinary care they provided over the last two years. Gerry loved going, and every one of you will always have a special place in our hearts.

Visitation will be held in on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 10 AM - 1PM with a service at 1 PM at Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave. North Providence.  Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers donations in his name can be made to Hope Alzheimer's Center, Cranston.
