Genevieve O'Brien

O'Brien, Genevieve A. (Bailey), 95, longtime Centredale resident, died Monday, June 30, 2008 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence A. O'Brien. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late James and Marie (Martin) Bailey.

Genevieve was a registered nurse and a 1933 graduate of the RI Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed for 25 years at the former Providence Lying-In Hospital.

She leaves two sons, Richard O' Brien and his wife Therese of Cranston and Lawrence O' Brien and his wife Lisbeth of Providence, three grandchildren, Daniel, Kate, and Michael O'Brien, and a sister, Madeliene Tognetti of Rumford. She was mother of the late Robert O'Brien and sister of the late Helen Barnet, Marie Burns, Evelyn Howarth, James and Robert Bailey.

Her funeral will be held Thursday at 10 am from the ROBBINS FUNERAL HOME, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Lawrence Church. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday 5-8 pm.
