Gena Apici

Apici, Gena (Macari), 88, a resident of North Providence, went to be with our Lord on July 21, 2016. She was the beloved wife of the late John Apici for 60 years. Born in Johnston, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Rose (Rega) Macari.

Gena previously resided in Spring Hill, Florida for 15 years, where she worked for the Winn Dixie Corporation for 10 years. She had worked for the State of RI for over 30 years.

She leaves behind her beloved daughters, Rose Kennedy and her husband James of Kodak, TN, Jean Bettencourt of North Providence, three cherished grandchildren, Brian Malardo of Lake Worth, FL, Kevin Bettencourt and his wife Janelle of East Providence, Jason Bettencourt and his wife Luciana of Johnston, five great-grandchildren, and siblings, Bessie Di Summa, Anthony Macari, and Rocco Macari. She was the mother of the late Angelo Apici and sister of the late Angelo, Pat, John, Vincent, Thomas, and Alfred Macari.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Mary Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., North Providence.
