G. Douglas Scott

G. Douglas Scott, 86, of Johnston, died on August 18, 2023 at the Hopehealth Hospice Center.  He was the husband of the late Marilyn (Martin) Scott.  Doug was born on January 12, 1937, to the late Robert S. and Annie Mary (Lawton) Scott.

Doug worked for W.E. Jackson & Company as a bookbinder and pressman for many years until his retirement.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Doug is survived by his son, Richard Scott of California, his granddaughter, Samara, his niece and caretaker, Linda Huestis, and many friends in the community.  He was the brother of the late Rev. Robert Scott and Caroline Whitney and stepfather of the late Gordon Downing.

Funeral services and burial in Highland Memorial Park will be private.
