Gary Charnley

Charnley, Gary S., 72, of Smithfield, died on November 15, 2021 at home.  He was the husband of Lorraine (Desforges) Charnley.  Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Ralph and Irene (Smith) Charnley.

Gary worked for Telspan International Ltd. Of South Windsor, CT for 44 years, retiring in 2016.  He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and having his glass of red wine.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Ellis and her husband Leonard of Greenville, two grandchildren, Haley and Jacob Ellis, and his brother, Ronny Charnley and his wife Lisa of Smithfield.

His funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence.  Burial with military honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.  Calling hours Thursday 4-7 pm.
