Gail Bilodeau

d. December 6, 2018

Smithfield, RI

Bilodeau, Gail L. (Robbins), 65, passed away on December 6, 2018 at her home.  Gail was the beloved wife of 38 years of the late James E. Bilodeau.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Josephine (Berry) Robbins of Smithfield.

Gail will be remembered as a kind and gentle person who loved life, loved her family and loved her friends.  Her warm smile and infectious giggle will be missed by all.

Before the passing of her late husband, Jim, the two were inseparable.  If they weren’t spending time with their family or friends, they were off on Jim’s motorcycle for an adventure somewhere around New England.  They spent countless hours taking peaceful rides together, going to the beach, camping, and exploring.  Always willing to help others, over the years the two were regular participants in the hundreds of charitable events sponsored by the various motorcycle clubs of which they were members.

Gail was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed seeing all of her “Bingo Friends” at the Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Parish Bingo in Woonsocket RI, as well as other Bingo venues that she knew and loved.

Gail was a member of the Knitting Ministry of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Providence, knitting prayer shawls for the elderly and the sick.  She also knitted baby caps for newborns at Women and Infants Hospital and for military families overseas.  Her knitting and crocheting skills were unparalleled.

Before retiring, Gail worked in the Finance Department at FM Global in Johnston, RI for 46 years where she formed many lifelong friendships with her co-workers.

She is survived by her brother, Stephen Robbins, her sisters, Shirley Varin, Joanne Forgue, Linda Robbins, and Rosemary Giroux, her stepchildren, James and Dawn Bilodeau, many grand and great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-7 pm in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence.  Burial will be private.
