Fogarty, Francis J., 81, formerly of North Providence, died peacefully at his daughter's home on June 22, 2011 in Taunton, Massachusetts. He was the husband of the late Irene (Driscoll) Fogarty. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph A. Fogarty and the late Dorothy G. (Greer) Cahill. He was a former resident of Hollywood, FL.
Francis was the former owner and past President of International Chromium Plating Co. of Providence. He was also the owner of the Good Time Racing Co. He held a Private Pilot's License and was a talented cartoonist having attended art classes at RISD. He enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles and loved playing his guitar for family and friends. Francis attended LaSalle Academy.
During the Korean Conflict he served as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division. He was also a past member of the Pawtucket Country Club.
He leaves his children, Joseph F. Fogarty of Coventry, Timothy P. Fogarty of North Providence, Jean M. Fogarty of Taunton, Linda A. Fogarty of North Providence, three granddaughters, Meghan, Emily, and Alice Fogarty, and his brother, John Fogarty. He was the father of the late Stephen M. Fogarty and brother of the late Dorothy Glasgow, Mary Ferland, Robert, William, and Thomas Fogarty.
