Frances Laboissoniere

Laboissoniere, Frances (Downey), 101, died peacefully on August 26, 2010 at Elmhurst Extended Care. She was the wife of the late Emile J. Laboissoniere and daughter of the late Patrick and Sarah (Orr) Downey.

Frances was a graduate of RIC with a BA and MA and attended RISD and PC. She taught in the North Providence School System for 48 years and enjoyed teaching, her students, reading, traveling, family events, and volunteering at McCauley House.

Frances is survived by children Michael F. Laboissoniere and Marcella Earnshaw (husband Donald); grandchildren Michael F. Laboissoniere, Marjorie Dix, Michelle Pechie, and Pamela Green; and four great-grandchildren, Damon Laboissoniere, Abigale Pechie, Joshua and Nicholas Dix. She was the sister of the late Stephen Downey and Marie Laboissoniere.

Visitation will be held Monday 9-10:30 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Lawrence Church, North Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McCauley House, 622 Elmwood Ave., Providence, RI 02907.
