Florence Holton

Holton, Florence S. (Carreiro), 75, of Fenwood Ave., died August 14, 2009 at Cortland Place. She was the wife of Jack D. Holton for 52 years. A lifelong Smithfield resident, she was a daughter of the late John M. and Mary (Motta) Carreiro.

Florence had worked for Worcester Textile and A.T. Cross for many years before retiring.

Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Cindy Lou Stanley of Smithfield and Karen Lanctot of Warwick, two grandsons, Michael Stanley, Jr. and Christopher Stanley, and a sister, Elsie St. Jean of Smithfield. She was a sister of the late Hilda Motta and Joseph Corte.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Michael Church, Georgiaville. Burial in Highland Memorial Park. Calling hours Monday 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Assn., 245 Waterman St., Providence, RI 02906.
