Everett R. Gardner, 79, of Smithfield, died on July 9, 2024 at his home.  He was the husband of the late Diane M. (Goring) Anderson Gardner. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Harry W. Gardner Jr. and Elizabeth (Mowry) Gardner.  

Everett was a machinist for Ryone Manufacturing for over 40 years before retiring.  He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.  He was a past member of the Chevy Club and of the Woonsocket Sportsmen's Club and enjoyed fishing and camping.

He is survived by his daughter, Sheri Vieira and her husband James of Smithfield, two grandchildren, Garrett Vieira and his fiancee Jazzmine of Dover-Foxcroft, ME, and Andrew Vieira of Smithfield, two great-granddaughters, Isabella and Cecilia, two sisters, Linda Asselin of North Providence and Beverly Maroun of Whitehall, PA, a sister-in-law, Carla O'Neill, two stepdaughters, Svea and Greta Anderson, and many nieces and nephews.  He was the brother of the late Harry W. Gardner, III.

His memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 6 pm in the Georgiaville Baptist Church, 100 Farnum Pike, Smithfield.  Military honors will follow.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
