Evelyn Cafferty

Cafferty, Evelyn M. (Carnevale) 91, of Rowley St. died Saturday January 5, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. She was the wife of the late William P. Cafferty for 64 years. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Felice and Maria Victoria (Lepore) Carnevale.

Evelyn worked as a waitress for many years at the Alpine Country Club and Providence Art Club before retiring. She had also worked at the Providence Shipyard during WWII. She was a 1939 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School.

She is survived by her children. Michael Cafferty of Providence, Susan Moore of Providence, Nancy Cafferty of Narragansett, Patrick Cafferty of Johnston, and Jane Lewis of North Kingstown, four grandchildren, Chelsea Cafferty, Evelyn Anderson, Colin Lewis and Alexandra Lewis, and two sisters, Phyllis Pilkington of Providence and Theresa Albanese of North Providence.

Visitation will be held Wednesday 9AM - 10:15AM in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave. North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Ave. Providence. Burial will follow in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
