Smithfield, RI - Eusebius C. (Charbonneau) Kelley, 94, formerly of North Bay Manor, Smithfield, RI passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2013 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence, RI. She was born on March 23, 1919 in Providence, RI, the daughter of Wilfred and Mary Ellen (Cove) Charbonneau. Eusebius was a graduate of St. Xavier Academy and a graduate of Rhode Island Hospital of Nursing, both in Providence, RI. She was also a graduate of the St. Elizabeth Hospital-School of Medical Record Librarians in Danville, IL. She received her bachelor of science degree at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst in 1977. Eusebius served as Chief Medical Records Librarian at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, CT, at St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee, IL, and at Center General Hospital in Rhode Island. Previously, she was a nursing supervisor at General Hospital in Cranston, RI, and a head nurse and supervisor at the Charles V. Chapin Hospital and a staff nurse in Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. Eusebius was department head and registrar record administrator at the Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield, retiring on February 18, 1985.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and a member of the Holy Rosary Society.
She enjoyed knitting, spinning, embroidery and reading.
She was predeceased by her husband Alfred Kelley on September 25, 1959, her son, A. Bruce Kelley on March 21, 2000, her sister Jacqueline Morrissey and her brother Wilfred Charbonneau and his wife Rita.
Her survivors include four nieces - Deborah Charbonneau, Ann Marie Mostecki and her husband Dennis, Katherine Foulke, Marilyn Gilligan and her husband Eugene, one nephew - Wayne Morrissey and his wife Jeanne, one great niece - Jacqueline Gilligan and one brother in law - Joseph T. Morrissey.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday 1/7/14 at 10am at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church with the Rev. Charles J. DiMascola officiating. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery. A calling hour will be held Tuesday morning from 8:45am-9:45am at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls, MA.
