Ernest Huntley

Huntley, Ernest W., 88, formerly of Smithfield, died April 2, 2012 in Berlin, NH. He was the husband of the late Alice T. (Bonoyer) Huntley. Born in North Providence, he was a son of the late Ernest W. and Lelia (Hosier) Huntley.

Ernest worked for the former United Wire of Cranston for 28 years until its closing in 1981. He then worked in the maintenance department at Lincoln Mall. A Navy veteran of WWII, he was a member of the VFW Post #329 of Cranston.

He leaves four children, Ernest G. Huntley, Robert A. Huntley, Diane A. Arcand, and Evelyn M. Costi, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two sisters Edith M. Koconis and G. Marjorie Huntley and one brother, Donald J. Huntley. He was brother of the late Arthur E. Huntley and Grace E. Graham.

His funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial with military honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Calling hours Friday 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Lung Assn. or Disabled American Veterans.
