Ellen Goff

Goff, Ellen E. (Hughes), 93, died November 22, 2015. She was the wife of the late James E. Goff. Born in Warwick, she was a daughter of the late John and Margaret (McCarthy) Hughes.

Ellen was a 1940 graduate of Aldrich High School. She served in the US Marine Corps during WWII, stationed in Hawaii.

She is survived by nine children, James, Richard, and Robert Goff, Ellen Burns (Ray), Kathleen Achille (James), Margaret Owens (Bob), Barbara Callison ( Ed Newton), Elaine Stein (Bob), and Mary Hunt-Lee (Richard), ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and four siblings, Thomas and Dennis Hughes, Anna Needham, and Rose Dwyer,. She was the mother of the late John Michael Goff and sister of the late Margaret Allen, Mary Dorrwachter, John, William, Richard and Michael "Joe" Hughes.

Her funeral will be held Monday, November 30, 2015 at 8:45 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Augustine Church, Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. Burial will follow in the RI Veterans Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 2-5 pm.
