Elizabeth Burhoe

Burhoe, Elizabeth Allette (Hansen), 85, died Saturday January 23, 2016 at the Hebert Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Douglas A. Burhoe. Born on September 30, 1930 in Greenville, RI, a section of Smithfield, she was the 7th child of eight children to Nils A. Hansen, Sr. and Elizabeth W. (Longfellow) Hansen. She was the sister of the late Nils A. Hansen Jr., Wilbert, Norman and Alfred Hansen, Barbara Hiatt, Dorothy Bardsley and Clara Henlin.

Elizabeth was a lifelong member of the Allendale Baptist Church of North Providence. She was baptized by emersion at the age of 10 on April 13, 1941 by Rev. Paul E. Burhoe, her future father in law. She married Douglas on April 26, 1953.

She is survived by her children, Thomas A., John A., Stephen A. Burhoe and Elizabeth A. Comire, fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Douglas A.P. Burhoe.

Her funeral will be held Saturday at 10AM in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave. North Providence. Burial will follow in Acotes Hill Cemetery, Chepachet. Calling hours Friday 5-8PM.
