Edward Scuncio

Edward L. Scuncio 88, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 10, 2023. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph C. and Vincenza (Lanni) Scuncio.  He was the devoted husband for 67 years to Ann J. (Bernardo) Scuncio.  He is survived by his beloved children:  Maryann Zinno (Henry), Edward L. Scuncio Jr. (Sharon), Patricia Scuncio DeAngelo (Michael), five grandchildren: Jonathan Zinno, Jennifer Livesley, Jessica Lafond, Brittany and Zachary Scuncio, and six great-grandchildren:  Lily, Zoe, Ella, Anastasia, Ozzy and Hallie. He was the brother of the late Mary Coppola, John Scuncio, Dorothy Morretti, Joseph Scuncio, and Jane Rudis.

Edward was the president of Scuncio Chevrolet from 1971-1991.  He served as president of the Rhode Island Automobile Association from 1982-1983 and was regional vice president of the National Automobile Dealers Association from 1990-1991. He was a member of the Kirkbrae Country Club where he enjoyed playing  golf and cards.  Affectionately called “Gampie” by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he especially loved spending time with his family.

Calling hours are respectfully omitted.  The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, followed by a mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m.  Interment will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston.
