Breault, Edward, 85, of North Providence, died December 9, 2014 at home. He was the husband of the late Laura (Desmarais) Breault. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Edward and Bertha (Pelletier) Breault.
Edward was a machinist and union secretary at Wardwell Braiding Machine Co., Central Falls and a deputy sheriff for the State of Rhode Island. He served from 1948-1958 in the United States Army National Guard, serving in Okinawa Japan during the Korean War. He was discharged as a Master Sergeant. Ed was formerly a member of the Notre Dame Men's Club and Knights of Columbus Sullivan Council, Central Falls, elected member of the 2nd ward Republican Party City Committee, Central Falls, assistant cub master of the Central Falls Cub Scouts, Vice President of the Bradford Court Assocation and Executive Officer of the Injured Works of Rhode Island. Ed enjoyed bowling, archery, chess, camping, fishing and the mandolin.
He leaves four children, Marie T. Boule of Florida, Edward R. Breault of North Providence, Doris White of North Providence, and Paul L. Breault, Sr. of Coventry, six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He was the brother of the late Theresa M. St. Pierre.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 8-10 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence follow by a service with military honors in Swan Point Cemetery Chapel, Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gerald R. Lemay Scholarship Fund, C/O Central Falls Teachers Union, PO Box 182, Central Falls, RI 02863.
