Proulx, Edgar J., 95, of Georgiaville, passed away on November 26, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Arline (Blanchard) Proulx for 70 years. Born in Pawtucket, RI, the son of the late Alva and Leona (Favreau) Proulx and brother of the late Leo Proulx, he and his brother were raised by his maternal grandparents Louis and Georgianna (Leveille) Favreau after the untimely death of their mother.
He served in England and France in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. He worked for Industrial Tool and Machine Company from 1950 to 1986.
Edgar is survived by his loving children: Karen King of Foster, RI; Michael Proulx and his wife Connie of Lafayette, CO; Diane Collins of Johnston, RI; and Susan Gentile and her husband Raymond of Smithfield, RI. He was the grandfather of Jennifer Smith and her husband Allen, Christopher Pacejo and his wife Jaclyn, Katherine King, Natalie and Elaine Proulx, and Dimitry Gentile, and great-grandfather of Jordan, Joseph, and Avery Smith.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 30th from 5-7 pm. His funeral will be held on Saturday, December 1st at 9 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Georgiaville. Burial with military honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Johnston.
