Edgar Bowser, Jr.

Bowser, Edgar James Jr., 84, a retired refrigerator technician, died April 30, 2014 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the husband of the late Lucy (Almeida) Bowser. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Edgar James and Ivy May (Greenwood) Bowser.

He is survived by two children, Georgina M. Bowser and her husband Gary Bisson of Pawtucket and Edgar J. Bowser III and his fiancée Debra Costa of Medfield, MA, a grandson, Daniel R. Bowser and his wife Jennifer, two great-grandchildren, Alyana and Daniel Jr., a sister, June Allen of Warwick, a nephew, Dennis Allen and his wife Lesley of Warwick, and many nieces and nephews. He was the uncle of the late Cynthia Lury.

Edgar loved his church, St. Robert Bellarmine, where he served as an usher. He enjoyed studying World War II, especially the European Theater.

His funeral will be held on Monday at 10 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:15 am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston.
