Dr. Baffoni, Jr.

Baffoni, Dr. Albert D. Jr., 57, passed peacefully on October 22, 2011 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Albert D. Baffoni Sr. and the late Joan A. (Miller) Baffoni.

He leaves three children, David, Paloma, and Nicholas Baffoni, three sisters, Linda Gray, Elizabeth Odess, and Nancy Zanni, two brothers, Joseph and Paul Baffoni, and 14 nieces and nephews.

Dr. Baffoni graduated college and medical school in a seven year program at Brown University. He was board certified in General Surgery and Critical Care Medicine. He worked at Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh as a Surgical Intensivist and ran the surgical ICU. He also worked at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh as the Chief of the Department of General Surgery and at McGee Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh in the Surgery Department until he retired.

Dr. Baffoni was active duty in the Army Medical Core for nine years, honorably discharged as a Major.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10 am in Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Rd., Johnston. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Our Lady of Grace Memorial Fund, 4 Lafayette St., Johnston, RI 02919.
