Dorothy F. Christiansen

Dorothy F. Christiansen (Firth), 93, passed peacefully on April 15, 2024 at Overlook Nursing Home.   She was the wife of the late John Christansen.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Edith (Geater) Firth.   

Dorothy had worked for the local telephone company before retiring to raise her family.  She then worked at Christiansen’s Dairy.  

She belonged to the Smithfield Senior Center, where she enjoyed playing cards and Bingo.  A natural athlete, she loved playing softball and golf and bowling.  Most of all, she loved her family.

Dorothy is survived by her beloved children, Debra Bauer (Richard) and Jay Christiansen (Suzanne); her grandchildren, Erika Allard (RJ), Britt Seugling (Charles), and Erin Hayes (Michael); her great-grandchildren, Noah, Ryan, Eli, Macie, and Mara; her brother, William Firth (Fernanda); and several nieces and nephews.  She was the beloved mother of the late Brian Christiansen.

At her request, Dorothy’s funeral service and burial were private.
