Dorothea Hosmer

Hosmer, Dorothea A. (Threshier) "Momma", 93, died peacefully December 26, 2011 at home. She was the wife of the late Frederick R. Hosmer. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Raymond E. and Bertha (Chagnon) Threshier.

Dorothea worked in the cafeteria at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital for many years before retiring in 1980.

She was the beloved mother of Frederick R. Hosmer, Jr. and his wife Audrey, Deborah Galyas as well as the late Carol Berard and Joyce Firby. She was the devoted grandmother of Denise Firby, Alan Firby, Eric Hosmer, Victor Berard, Paul Berard and his wife Sandy, Jay Berard and his wife Rachel, Grant Fournier and his fiancee Leigha Joyal as well as the late Kenneth Firby. She was also adored by her 10 great- grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was also the loved sister of Irene Andersen and the late Raymond and Albert Threshier, Ruth Bradbury, and Charlotte Gomes.

Her funeral service will be held Friday at Noon in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Visitation 10 am-Noon. Burial in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation, 249 Roosevelt Ave., Suite 201, Pawtucket, RI 02860.
