Seguin, Doris M., Age 92, was led to her Lord on March 16, 2015. She was the beloved wife of
the late Albert W. Seguin, Sr. and happily married over 55 years. Born in Providence, she was
the daughter of the late Mabel A. Carpenter (Cooper) and Walter E. Carpenter. She was a
lifelong resident of North Providence. Doris graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1940
and continued her education and graduated from Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. She was a
secretary at Esmond Mills during World War II and administrative secretary at Bryant College.
Later, she pursued a career in Cartography and was employed at the US Army
Map Service as a Compilation Specialist until 1959. Doris was a member of the Mathewson
Street United Methodist Church, in Providence, RI for over 80 years serving in various church
ministries. She belonged to the Quonset Pt. Navy Yacht Club and the Hearthside
Lanes Woman's bowling league. Doris enjoyed vacationing, often traveling to the White
Mountains of New Hampshire and Florida, boating, golfing, cards, crafts,
and tending to her flower garden. She also was an avid sports fan but particularly enjoyed the
Boston Red Sox and the Providence College Friars basketball.
She is survived by her two sons Kenneth Seguin Sr. and wife Gabriella of Tarpon Springs, FL
and William Seguin and wife Carole of Wakefield and three stepsons Albert Seguin Jr and wife
Arlene of Cranston, Charles and wife Lonna Seguin of Bangor, ME, Donald Seguin and wife
Eileen of Cumberland. She has eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren and many
nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Earle.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Robbins Funeral Home on
2251 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 10am.
Visiting hours will be Friday, March 27, 2015, from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm.
Burial will be at Pocasset Cemetery in Cranston, RI. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial gifts may be
sent to Mathewson Street United Methodist Church, Friendship Prayer Breakfast Fund, 134
