On February 17, 2023 Donald M Whited, 63 of Johnston was called home to be with the Lord after passing peacefully at home surrounded by his wife, loving family and friends after a long, brave cancer battle. He was the husband of Elaine D. (Smith) Whited. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Donald and Barbara (Aitchison) Whited.
Donald was the Breakfast Chef at Kent Hospital for the last 19 years. Prior to that, he was a chef at Aldo’s on Block Island. He loved cooking for others and watching them enjoy his many specialty dishes, his favorite was baked stuffed lobster.
When Donald wasn’t cooking, he loved fishing, going to the beach, gardening, and attending music festivals. He especially loved listening to the Beatles. Donald was known for his corny jokes. Above all, Donald was a devoted family man.
Besides his wife, Donald is survived by two daughters, Alisha Bourdeau and her partner, Steven and Melissa Greene and her husband, Jason, five grandchildren, Tori, Devin, Dasia, Jason Jr., and Sadie, one great-granddaughter, Kallisto, a brother, Kenneth, two sisters, Sharon and Pamela, a brother-in-law, Robert, and five nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 20th from 3-6 pm, followed by a service of remembrance at 6 in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial will be private.
