Donald F. Darby

Donald F. Darby, 92, of West Greenwich, formerly of Smithfield, died on February 8, 2023 at the Hopehealth Hospice Center.  He was the husband of Barbara Ann (Blackburn) Darby for 64 years.  Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Harold Darby Sr. and Laura (Hauser) Darby.

Donald was a plant manager for Highland Textile until retiring.  He was a life member of the Centredale Fire Department.  He also was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Florence Day, his brother, Harold Darby Jr., his sister, Barbara Parenteau, and his godson, Jay Lawrence.  He is survived by his wife and his nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 11 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence.  Burial with military honors will follow in Highland Memorial Park.  Visitation will be held from 10-11 am.
