On Friday, June 17, 2022, Dan F. Gaudioso, loving husband and father of five, passed away at the age of 97, in Johnston, Rhode Island.
Dan was born on September 21, 1924 in Providence, Rhode Island to the late Gaetano and Giovannina (Broccoli) Gaudioso. He proudly served his country during World War II, fighting in the Pacific Theater with the U.S. Navy. Afterward, Dan continued his dutiful service with the Providence Fire Department, for over 30 years. During his years with the Providence Fire Department, Dan ultimately achieved the rank of Captain. In retirement, Dan greatly enjoyed furniture building, woodwork, carpentry, gardening and spending time with his family.
He was the loving husband of, and survived by Marilyn (Gomes) Gaudioso, who were married for over 35 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by five children, Ann Marie Evon (Fred), Daniel Gaudioso (Marion), Anthony Gaudioso (Carol), Joan Gaudioso, Joann Gaudioso, as well as step-children Joanna Birkitt (Teresa Saettel), Judith Butterfield (James McLenaghan), and Douglas Birkitt (Aileen). Many grandchildren, step grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive Dan.
He is preceded in death by sisters Olga Chaney and Amelia Gaudioso, as well as his first wife Olga Agresto Gaudioso.
Calling hours will be on June 23rd Thursday (5-7 pm), at Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence, RI. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 24th at 10 am in Highland Memorial Park, 1 Rhode Island Ave., Johnston, RI. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association are encouraged.
