Mollo, Connie, 86, passed away peacefully at Heritage Hills Nursing Centre with her family by her side on October 21, 2011. She was the loving wife of the late George J. Mollo, Sr.
Connie was born on December 21, 1924 in Providence, the daughter of the late William and Antonetta (Motta) Buco. She was a resident of North Providence for 50 years, moving to the town after her marriage. She was living in Lincoln for the last decade with her daughter, Janet Ricci and family. Connie was endlessly devoted and caring to her family. She was and remains much loved by her children, for whom she was a lasting example of kindness and generosity. She touched the lives of many others in this regard. Her grandchildren became the joy of her life. Neighbors and friends will remember her active spiritual life, great warmth, and wonderful sense of humor. Travel was always a big part of her life, enjoying places like England, where her son now resides, Ireland, Scotland, Italy and other wonderful vacation spots. Connie loved all kinds of music and for many years sang in the choir at St. Lawrence Church. She was an avid supporter of the RI Philharmonic Orchestra. Connie was also an excellent cook and shared many blissful hours with her son-in-law John in the kitchen, where they created culinary masterpieces for family and friends. One of her famous school quotes was "to go in to learn and learn how to serve", and that she did exceptionally well. Connie's death leaves a gap in the lives of many, only to be replenished over time by her many gifts and the splendid memories of her glorious spirit.
She was the beloved mother of George J. Mollo, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Caroline Campbell of Ely, Cambridge, England and Janet A. Ricci and son-in-law Dr. John R. Ricci of Lincoln. Connie was the ever so loving grandmother of Christina and Eric Ricci, both of whom she was extremely proud of and whom she cherished. She leaves a devoted, loving sister, Barbara Troncy of Providence and was also the sister of the late William, John, Angelo Buco and Ann Fera.
