DeCotis, Clara L., 89, of Smithfield, formerly of Federal Hill, died Monday, June 24, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence. She was the wife of the late Albert J. DeCotis for 56 years before his passing in 2000. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Olive (Schettini) Luongo.
Clara had been employed in quality control at the former Tupperware in Smithfield. She had also worked as a waitress in O'Brien's Restaurant, now Parente's. She was a resident of Smithfield for 64 years, and loved to cook.
She leaves four children, Albert DeCotis of Medway, MA, Frank DeCotis of Cranston, Cheryl Rotondo of North Providence, and Peg Gilmore of Johnston. She was grandmother of nine and great grandmother of eighteen. She was sister of the late Mary O'Brien, Vincent, Harry, Tommy, and David Luongo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 29th, 2013 at 9 AM in St. Michael Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Georgiaville. Burial will follow in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
