Claire Hopper

Hopper, Claire E., 86, of Hatherly St., died July 14, 2008 at Heritage Hills Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Thomas W. Hopper. Born in Johnston, she was a daughter of the late William and Ida M. (Emms) Caldwell.

Claire was the co-owner of the former E&C Jewelry Company of North Providence, retiring in 1970. She was a member of the Melodie Belles and former president of the Spring Villa Assn.

She leaves four children, Thomas W. Hopper of North Providence, Councilwoman Eileen M. Cook of North Providence, Patricia S. Gagnon of Smithfield, and Colleen M. Torregrossa of North Providence, a brother, George W. Caldwell of Lincoln, 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She was sister of the late Marjorie M. Tracy.

Funeral services and burial will be private.
