Carolyn A. Lees (Hein), 81, of Cumberland, formerly of North Kingstown, died on July 12, 2024 with her family by her side. She was the wife of Walter Lees II. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late James and Doris (Guerin) Hein.
Carolyn was a registered nurse, receiving her Associates Degree from CCRI. She worked in many settings as a nurse, including hospitals, nursing homes, and private practices. She had worked for the late Dr. Larry Bouchard, was a purchasing manager for the visiting nurses, and retired from a cardiology practice. Carolyn loved dancing, laughing, traveling with her husband, carousel horses, Cinderella, and all of her pets.
She is survived by her husband, Walter, her two children, Deborah J.R.L. Famiglietti and Richard J. Famiglietti, four stepdaughters, Robin Lees, Wendy Papagolos (Manny), Penny Pietraszka (late Joe), and Cindy Browning (Stuart), six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, her Hein cousins, who were like sisters to her, Fran Pichette (late Charles), Marcia Iannelli (Michael), Phyllis Melanson (Roger), and Jeanne Roy (Arthur), her Guerin cousins, David Guerin (Margaret), Judy Leipf (deceased), Shirley (Dignard) Richards (deceased), and Louise (Dignard) Richardson (Dana).her close friends, Josephine and Richard Gervais, and her former husband, Richard E. Famiglietti. Carolyn was also “Auntie Gram” to Max, Jack and Mason. She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph R. Famiglietti and her former in-laws, Edward and Rose (Capaldi) Famiglietti.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 19th from 1-2 pm, followed by a service at 2 pm in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ASPCA or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
