Carlton, Carolyn M. (Campbell), 81, died peacefully on November 10, 2019 at Saint Elizabeth Home in East Greenwich surrounded by her loving family. Born in Providence she was the devoted daughter of the late John R. and Madeline F. (Gilleran) Campbell. She resided in Smithfield until retiring and relocating to Weston Florida in 2004. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald R. (Mickey) Carlton for 61 years. She was the adored and loving mother of Michael Carlton (Melissa) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL., Jayne Boisvert (Dr. Joseph Farina) of Warwick, R.I., Timothy Carlton (Denise) of Weston, FL., Alan Carlton (Deana) of Weston, FL., Margery Mahoney (Kevin) of Salem NH., Jennifer Leclerc (Christopher) of Coral Springs, FL., Donald Carlton Jr ( Denise) of Davie FL.. Carolyn also leaves behind the lights of her life, her ten grandchildren, Lauren, Morgan, Courtney, Cameron, Harrison, Matthew, Emily, Ryan, Nicholas, and Jason. She was the loving sister of Marilyn Fair, Beverly Magrath, Madelyn White, and the late Margery Dwyer. She also had a special place in her heart for her many nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of St. Xavier Academy. She was employed by the Town of Smithfield Public Works Dept. as an administrative assistant for 27 years. She was a woman of strong Catholic faith and involved in many organizations at St. Phillip Church & School in Greenville. Despite her busy schedule she always found time to attend all of her children and grandchildren’s activities. She enjoyed summering in R.I. and relaxing on the beach with her friends and family. Carolyn was known throughout her family and community for her kind and welcoming spirit. She loved hosting holidays where there was an open invitation to all. Her family would like to acknowledge the selfless and tireless efforts by her daughter Jennifer and her husband Chris in our mother’s care throughout her illness. Her funeral will be held Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 10:00 AM from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial services will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Calling hours Friday 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory.
