Bessie Mancini

Mancini, Bessie M. (Carnevale), 84, died June 10, 2009 at home. She was the wife of Nello Mancini for 58 years. Born in Johnston, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Marie (Carnevale) Carnevale.

Bessie became a licensed practical nurse in 1965, working at the former Lying-In Hospital for 12 years. She also worked as a teller for the former Industrial National Bank, now Bank of America. Bessie was an outstanding athlete and enjoyed vacationing in Florida during the winter for the last 26 years.

Besides her husband, she leaves four children, Paula Pelland, Steven Mancini, Diane DeBlois, and Denise Capraro, and four grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Eleanor Silva.

Her funeral will be held Friday at 9 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Lawrence Church, North Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Calling hours Thursday 5-8 pm.
