Castiglioni, Barbara C. (Kettle) of Johnston RI, a Nurse and Supervisor at VNA of RI for 25 years before retiring in 1995 died Saturday. She was the wife of the late William O. Castiglioni.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Alton and Claire (Casey) Kettle, she lived in Johnston for 56 years. Barbara was a graduate of Hope High School in Providence RI and the University of Rhode Island College of Nursing.
She leaves three sons William O. Castiglioni Jr. of Powder Springs GA, Alfred K. Castiglioni of Lincoln RI, David A Castiglioni of Palm Coast Fl., one daughter Claire Ferranti (Castiglioni) of Johnston, RI. Also 7 grandchildren & 11 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Alton Kettle and the late John (Jack) Kettle.
Barbara enjoyed spending summers in Narragansett RI. After retirement, Barbara loved to travel and took many trips. In her most adventurous travel year, she visited 13 countries, spanning from Europe to Central America.
Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 19th at 11 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Visitation will begin at 9 am. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cherry Hill Manor Activities Fund, 2 Cherry Hill Rd., Johnston, RI 02919.
