North Providence

Barbara A. Campano (Roy), 82, of North Providence, passed away on April 1, 2024 at home, surrounded by her family.  She was the wife of the late Francis J. Campano for 50 years, until his passing in 2017.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Bertha (Cusson) Roy.

After graduating from Our Lady of Fatima Hospital School of Nursing, Barbara worked as an LPN at the hospital.  She was an avid New England Patriots fan.  She also loved animals, especially her cat, Baby, and enjoyed picking plants and flowers to place in water to see what would grow.  Barbara was a devout parishioner of Mary, Mother of Mankind Church.

Most of all, Barbara adored her family and was known to be the ‘life of the party”.  She loved telling jokes and recording videos at family gatherings.  She had a wall in her home dedicated to photos of her extended family.  She was everybody’s “Auntie Barbara”.  Barbara will be truly missed by many, but is finally at peace and reunited with her beloved husband.

Barbara is survived by two children, Michael R. Campano and his wife Holly of North Providence and Christine M. Marsh and her husband Michael of Griswold, CT, five grandchildren, Alicia, Rachael, Rebecca, Lacey, and Cody, two great-grandchildren, Grayson and Hanson, her sister, Dorothy Roy, her brother, William Roy, and many nieces and nephews.  She was the sister of the late Theresa DiStefano, Jean Roy, and Robert Roy.

Her funeral will be held on Friday at 8:30 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., North Providence.  Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park.  Calling hours Thursday 5-8 pm.
