Antonio Medeiros

Medeiros, Antonio J. Jr., 79, of Penbryn Ave., died March 2, 2012 at home. He was the husband of the late Jean M. (Creighton) Medeiros. A lifelong Smithfield resident, he was a son of the late Antonio and Silvina (Motta) Medeiros.

Tony was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 30 years. He also worked as a custodian for the Smithfield School Department for 10 years. He was a member of the Portuguese-American Club, Georgiaville and an Army veteran of the Korean War.

He leaves two children, Jo Ann Stevens and John Medeiros and his wife Lynn, his daughter-in-law, Sylvia Medeiros, three grandchildren, Courtney, Brittany, and Brianna Medeiros, and his sister, Patricia Degnan Rocha. He was father of the late Richard Medeiros, grandfather of the late Jason Chere, and brother of the late George and Steven Medeiros.

His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Michael Church, Georgiaville.
