Antonette Selva

Della Selva, Antonette "Etta", 91, died July 11, 2014 at South County Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Mauro Della Selva. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late James and Libera (Ascoli) Gentile.

A graduate of Bryant College, Etta worked as a teller at Old Stone Bank for many years before retiring. She previously had worked as a private secretary for Textron. She was a member of St. Thomas Church on Fruit Hill Ave. Etta was a summer resident of Bonnet Shores for many years, where she hosted weekly card parties. She and her husband loved to dance at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet. Most of all, Etta will be remembered for her dynamic personality and her kind-heartedness, to her family and to strangers alike.

A very devoted mother and grandmother, Etta is survived by her children, Michael Della Selva and his wife Shelly, James Della Selva, Judith Fahey, and David Della Selva and his wife Maryam, four grandchildren, Sean and Conor Fahey and Sophia and Julianna Della Selva, and many special cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday 8:15-9:15 am in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Thomas Church, Fruit Hill Ave., Providence. Burial will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hasbro Children's Hospital, PO Box H, Providence, RI 02901.
