Chepachet

Carchia, Anthony R., 80, of Chepachet, RI passed away peacefully at Landmark Hospital with his wife and daughters by his side on January 12, 2021. He was the loving husband of Nancy L. Carchia. They would have celebrated 20 years of marriage this summer.

Tony was born in Providence, Rhode Island to the late Antonio and Ida Carchia. He is survived by his only sibling, Dolores Fargnoli, with whom he shared a close bond. He was an adventurous man who enjoyed anything recreational with speed; especially motorcycles and race cars. He was well-liked by all who knew him and he had many friends who gathered with him often. He definitely had a knack for conversation whether it was with family, friends or someone he just met. He was also a passionate man in his beliefs.

Tony was a retired heavy machines operator and an Air Force veteran who was stationed at Fairchild Airforce Base in Airway Heights, WA. While there he met his former wife, Carol, of Spokane. They were married 18 years and had four beautiful daughters together. He remained a devoted father to his children: Lena Carchia, Yavonne Diezsi (husband Todd), Felicia Coston (husband Randy), and Coreen Bacon (husband Kelly) and has 9 grandchildren, Nicholas, Andrew, Brianne, Emily, Alicia, Ashlyn, Braiden, Griffin, and Ethan, and 6 great grandchildren.

After moving back to his hometown of Johnston, Rhode Island, Tony made many memorable visits to Spokane where he was surrounded in love by family and friends. Tony then met his current wife, Nancy. They enjoyed making many motorcycle trips and visits to Florida together. With Nancy, he has a stepdaughter, Christine E. Filippone and her husband David of Foster, RI, along with two step-grandchildren, Paul and Sophia.

Due to COVID restrictions, there will be no services at this time.
