Parker, Alvin W, 64, of North Providence, died October 7, 2013 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He was the devoted husband of Kathleen C. (Cambio) Parker. Born in Jay, ME, he was a son of the late Wesley Carl and Winna Mae (Paul) Parker.

Alvin was a supervisor for juvenile probation for the RI Department of Children, Youth and Families for 33 years, retiring in 2008. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son Jason A. Parker and his wife Jennifer, of Westerly, Meghann K. Parker and her partner Lisa Sparks, of Blackstone, MA, and grandchildren Jayden, Jack, and Jenna. He also leaves his siblings, Aaron Stieben, Bessie Mae Loewe, Belinda Winter, Angie Veitch, Susan Smith, Jane Shaffer, Sarah Shink, Helen Goding, and Priscilla Santellan, and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Friday at 8:45 AM from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence, followed by a funeral service at 10 AM in Ocean State Baptist Church, 600 Douglas Pike, Smithfield. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Calling hours are Thursday 4-8 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, RI Chapter, 1210 Pontiac Ave, Cranston, RI 02920.
