Alfred Iafrate

Iafrate, Alfred A., 93, of Angell Ave., died Wednesday March 5, 2014 at the Village at Waterman Lake. He was the husband of Violet (Venava) Iafrate. Born in Georgiaville, he was a son of the late Antonio and Louisa (Gabriele) Iafrate.

Alfred was a firefighter at the Newport Naval Base for many years before retiring and was a custodian at the Greystone School. He was also a member of the Centredale Fire Department and an Army Veteran of WWII .

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Peter A. Iafrate of Woonsocket, a daughter, Lisa Iafrate-Ruscito of Jamestown, two grandchildren, Rebecca and Alicia Ruscito, and two sisters, Onorina Libby of Jamestown and Anne Eddy of Redlands, CA. He was the brother of the late Arialdo Iafrate and Louisa Boudreau.

His funeral will be held Monday at 9 AM from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave. North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church.
